The world is a little more beautiful…

Filed under: Hair Apparent — Robin on October 26, 2006 @ 8:02 pm

Pat myself on the back….. today the world is a little more beautiful. I have been super busy lately making my family (hence the world) beautiful. I hope you are all appreciative of my art Laughing…. Here is a prime example:

Little Miss MK came today to get her hair done, and as I’m drying her hair I find out I’m supposed to have highlighted it. Now Little Miss MK is only 8, and she was really looking forward to it…. So, out comes the powder and developer and the foils. In this first pic, she is looking quite comfy under the dryer with her copy of People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People (funnily enough, she reminded me of the little old ladies I used to do, sitting under the dryer devouring the latest magazines.) Judging by the second picture, I would say that Little Miss MK belongs in that magazine herself….. You be the judge!

Distractingly gorgeous!!

Even with all the hair I’ve been doing, got one more color tomorrow, GB and I have not only been able to keep up, but we’ve actually gotten a little ahead. In History this week, we have been learning about orchard farms. And in Science, we have been learning about the differences and things that are alike in animals. Since we did a lot of this last year, it has been no problem to relearn. Math is still a review of last year, imo. But he has more of a comfort with it this year, so I’m OK with it. I’m dreading getting into multiplication. He seems to just tolerate adding and subtracting in order to get to the good stuff in Math: money, calendars, measuring, clocks, and geometry. He is a great wiz in Language Arts. We have been learning about dictionary usage, prefixes, and suffixes. And every week his spelling tests are consistent A’s. Good job GB!!

Our Dog Unit is going over really well. This week we did some dog trivia and learned about Hounds and Toy dogs. GB was really happy to find Patches, Jessie, Sherry and Newton in the hounds. And he found Murphy in the Toys. He keeps waiting to find Peatsy, but the aren’t going to have Shnoodles in the AKC, but we will be able to find a Miniature Schnauzer tomorrow. We started reading a new book (one of Aquagirl’s favorite childhood books) on Wednesday, “Shiloh”. He is loving the book so much that I think we’ll probably be done tomorrow. I think I’ll turn it into a little project and have him learn about characters, setting, theme, and climax. We’ll see.

Speaking of “Shiloh,” I put the DVD on his Christmas/Birthday list, which you can conveniently find in the sidebar. I’ll probably add more to it, as the commercials start getting cranked up….Money mouth …LOL
Well, I’m pretty tuckered out for the day………watching GB swim for an hour actually made me even more tired. It’s time for my big Thursday TV lineup. Ta-ta-for-now!
