Finally! Snow!
Oh, Virginia! This state is SO unpredictable for weather. Usually, we don’t get snow until February or maybe March, but we hardly ever get any snow, so it hardly matters. But for snow to come in December is just so hard to believe.
It started snowing on Friday evening. And it was coming down in buckets. We all went out for pizza, like we do every Friday night. Afterward, I came home and Bruce (dh) and Cade went to karate class. It was snowing pretty good by then, but they’d only be about an hour behind me. Well, that was a mistake. It took Bruce about three hours to get home. Two and a half of it on one hill that leads to our neighborhood. People just couldn’t get up the hill and it’s the only way into the neighborhood. I was so relieved when he and Cade walked in the door.
Tiffany (Aquagirl) is still trapped up in Northern Virginia, where she had gone to visit with her boyfriend. And Josh’s (Jabem) girlfriend, who had come here to hang out with him, had to stay the weekend because the roads were so horrible.
We also had to put off our trip to North Carolina. We were going to see the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. The Christmas lights and decorations are supposed to be amazing! We’re going to try again next week, after Christmas. It wasn’t just the snow that kept us from going. Our doggie, who is seventeen years old, was very sick. And we were just too worried about him to leave him.
See how weak he looks? Poor puppy. He doesn’t even weigh enough to sink into the snow.
Yesterday, we took Cade a few streets away to a nearby golf course. I’m sure they hate it when it snows, but golf courses are the BEST places to sled! Cade and Bruce had a fantastic time sledding down the hills.

Such fun! I think I am officially ready for the snow to be all melted. It’s sticking around too long.

How fun!!! That’s how we spent a lot of today, too… though our hill was much shorter. Which is a good idea for someone with her arm in a cast!
Enjoy your snow!!!!
