Gift making
Today GB and I made some homemade soap for the ladies in the family. We got a kit from Michael’s and it made it really easy. Plus, it was a lot of fun. GB likes to give his own presents but has no money.
First, we broke the big block of soap into smaller blocks.
Then we nuked them in the microwave for about a minute. Twelve blocks made three bars of soap.
After they melted, we stirred it up to make it smooth.
Then we added some sparkly green color to tint the soap. We also made some pink bars that were supposed to look brownish.
Stir it all in.
Then you add the fragrance. GB used a decent bit, so his bars actually smell better than my test bars.
If you want to add some interest to the bars, you can put a stamp in the bottom of the mold, face up. You have to add a dab of the soap first to make it stick to the mold.
Next, pour the soap into the molds.
Then wait for them to harden. It only takes about 45 minutes. Then you pop them out of the mold……
….like this.
And wrap them in some pretty handmade paper with some raffia.
And voilĂ !
These soap bars are pretty enough for any bathroom. I hope they like them.

Those turned out nice! I used to love making soap like that. I gave some for Christmas presents one year when I was a teenager
