Yeah, I know, wrong time of the year for resolutions. But GB has been sick all week, and it’s made me think about all the things I really need to get done. So I decided to make a list to keep myself on task for the upcoming season.

• I have got to winterize this house, so first I want to get my ventilation filters down, clean them, and then dust the grate that covers them. Then I want to go down to the Home Depot and get some of those things to winterize my windows. We have drafts around the windows and doors. I also want to get one of those blankets for my water heater. Maybe a knowledgeable sales person can tell me other ways to get my house ready for Winter.
• I want to start eating 5 small meals a day. My sister has been insisting for a long time, and my dh reinforces her ideas, that I don’t actually eat enough. My metabolism is too slow. So I’m going to try to modify my meals and add in two snacks.
• I need to walk on my treadmill for at least 20 minutes every day. This one has been causing me trepidation, because my knees get so sore. It’s very hard for me to do baby steps and go slow when I start exersizing. I keep thinking I’m not really accomplishing anything. But if I go gung-ho right off the bat, I pay for it for weeks.
• I want to get all the weeds out of my flower beds before the bad weather gets here. They look terrible and desperately need some TLC.
• Both dogs need to go to the vet to get some shots. Thankfully I got their winter haircuts done last week. These cuts take me two hours each, so it’s a really big chore. But I don’t like to cut their hair in the really cold months. They need the extra fur.
• We’ve done the attic, but when my kids get home from college, I want to purge the garage of unnecessary junk and send it to Goodwill. It also needs reorganizing now that we’ve finally sold the drink machine.
• GB and I need to go through his toys and books and get rid of anything that is too babyish for him. We can pack up our favorites to use for grandchildren who come along. And the rest can go to Goodwill. GB needs to learn more about charity.
• Before Christmas gets here, I’d like to reorganize my computer desk. I’ve got lots of unfinished projects collecting all over the place.
• I want to pack up all the material we used for GB’s last two big units, and put them into a file folder. Right now this stuff is being displayed on the walls outside his bedroom.
• And finally, I’ve been promising Aquagirl that I would finish a painting that she requested for her new apartment. I need to make time for that.

So wish me luck people. If there is anything left on this list by January, I guess it will make it’s way into my New Year’s resolutions.
