Another birthday!
GB finally got to have his birthday party with his two best friends, JB and JC! Sisters HC and SC came with us, also. After Pizza Hut (GB’s fav), and an Alien cake, complete with flying saucer, we headed out to Laser Quest for some laser fun! I would love to show you the pictures, but someone changed the size of the images and they are too big for the blog
He got some great presents, two of which we will be using in our school. He got a Horrible Science kit that had a plastic eyeball, dissecting activity. It’s funny because I had just been telling my new friend, Dana, that I didn’t think we’d ever be able to dissect a cow’s eyeball, like she and her daughter had done. But I think we will save this for later, as GB was kind of grossed out by the idea of it.. LOL
He got the game, Rummikub, and I look forward to teaching him how to play. I used to play it with my Grandma Phyllis. She would be so happy to see the tradition continued.
But the big hit of the day was a toy called Webkins. It was a stuffed frog, since he loves frogs, that you go online and name. You get a birth certificate and some webkins money, so that you can furnish an online bedroom for your animal, buy some clothes, toys, food and other stuff that I’m still getting used to. Of course, you run out of w-money pretty soon, so you have to earn more by playing arcade games or trivia games or educational games. Then you can buy more stuff for your online pet.
He was a tad grumpy all day, and I’m thinking he was having a hard time with the time change. Later that evening we took him to swim practice and he did much better than in previous weeks as far as his attention span went. We have champs in two weeks and I’m hoping his foot will feel totally healed by then.
I was VERY saddened by the departure of my favorite team on The Amazing Race, Rob and Amber. I have always loved how sneaky he is. He’s been very entertaining and I can tell that they really do love each other. And me being a sentimental gush….. I just love that. They got out though, because they couldn’t spell. Isn’t that a hoot! It just goes to show how important our job is. If they had learned spelling better, they may have made it all the way to a million bucks! Oh well.
